Thicker Than Thieves (TTT) has a niche for blending deep, soulful vocals, with searing guitar riffs, and a rock-reggae based rhythm section, which creates their unique signature TTT sound.
"San Diego based, Thicker Than Thieves pump out a sun-baked and surf inspired mix of heavy, reggae inflected bass lines and blazing guitars." - Bill Picture (Staff Writer/ San Francisco Examiner)
Influences range from Bad Brains and Bob Marley, to The Clash, and even the classical composer Dvorak, which have allowed TTT to bring a multi-faceted, original sound and style to a diverse fan base throughout the country. Known for their memorable live performances, TTT has grown much of their fan base by performing at major music festivals, such as Reggae In The River and the Vans Warped Tour.
Thicker Than Thieves began with local acclaim in 2000 and toured extensively over the years, throughout the Western U.S., including Hawaii, Canada and Costa Rica, which grew a rich and diverse global fan base.
In 2002, TTT self released "Smuggler's Run," as well as in 2004, with an EP titled "Respect, " which featured reggae artist Tippa Irie. In 2007, TTT produced a full length LP "Thru Thick and Thin," which continues to receive rave reviews from industry professionals and fans alike.
Additionally, TTT music has been featured on various surf movies, as well as a debut on the movie Hard Breakers, featuring Tia Carrera and Tom Arnold in 2010. With band members from Costa Rica, Hawaii, and California, Thicker Than Thieves has a sound that stands true to its rich diversity. The band is currently working on its fourth full length release with record producers Michael "Miguel" Happoldt of Skunk Records and Louie Richards of 17th Street Recording Studio, which best display their unique individual talents, diverse songwriting skills and amazing synergy.
Thicker Than Thieves philosophy is simple, yet profound. It's to embrace diversity and inspire youth to be true to their individuality, as well as and to write, record and perform music that is both memorable and positive in its vibrations.
